While YMCA-YWCA staff and instructors make every reasonable effort to minimize exposure to known risks, the YMCA-YWCA of Winnipeg recommends that you consult with your physician before participating in any YMCA-YWCA program, and/or using any YMCA-YWCA fitness equipment or facilities. YMCA-YWCA staff, instructors and volunteers are not licensed health care providers and have no expertise in determining the effect of any specific program such as an exercise program, or use of equipment on a medical condition.
I understand and agree that in registering for and/or participating in a YMCA-YWCA program and/or using any YMCA-YWCA fitness equipment or facilities, I may be involved in physical activity and that with any physical activity there is a risk of injury. By participating in YMCA-YWCA programs and/or using any YMCA-YWCA fitness equipment or facilities, I agree that I am participating voluntarily and doing so at my own risk.
The safety of each individual is of utmost importance to the YMCA-YWCA. My children and I recognize a personal responsibility to learn and follow at all times safety and other rules established by YMCA-YWCA staff. I understand that I/my children should have plenty of water available, exercise in a large, well-lit obstacle-free area and wear comfortable clothing that doesn’t inhibit movement. I understand I am responsible for monitoring my/my children’s’ condition during any workout, exercising within our limits, and seeking attention and advice as appropriate.
I have carefully read, fully understand, and freely and voluntarily accept the terms above, and understand that I am giving up substantial rights. If I am not the parent or legal guardian of the children, I confirm that I have the authority to accept the terms above on behalf of such parties or in their place and I acknowledge that I am accepting the agreement freely and voluntarily. I understand and agree that the assumption of risks contemplated herein is intended to be as broad and inclusive as is permitted by the applicable laws of Canada and that if any portion thereof is held invalid, that the balance shall, notwithstanding, continue in full legal force and effect.
